This web site is a personal blog focusing on video gaming. While many posts relate to my professional interests in the virtual environments of games, the posts you find here are not necessarily limited to those subjects.

Hello, I work with children with profound disabilities and I am interested in finding video games that have very visual and detailed environments for these kids to explore. I am not interested in challenging games with lots of pitfalls. They do not have that ability. I want something that is easy to explore, preferably in the first person mode. They are trapped in bodies that do not work properly and they cannot go anywhere without someone pushing their wheelchair. I want to give them the ability to go exploring on their own.
I am using a computer with switch interfaces. I have it hooked up to a projector and I use a large screen for greater visual impact. I am having trouble finding games that they can manuver through using only a few keys. Most games are way too complicated.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Jim

Sorry about that, your comment got lost in all the comment spam. I should start using a spam catcher soon to avoid that problem. That’s a really tough question… Animal Crossing: Wild World comes to mind, which is relaxing and easy and also a lot of fun. Here are some reviews:

The problem with this game is that it’s for the DS, which is a bit small. But easy, exploration-based games must be out there for the PC too.

I remember The Manhole was a great exploration game - the only controls were occasionally clicking on something. Its pretty old so may be hard to find or to get working.
